Whether you are a player, a parent or guardian, a working professional or a retired person there are many benefits to becoming a volunteer.

By joining our dedicated team you will be helping to support and develop young people by giving them the opportunity to play football, be part of a team and to make lifelong friendships through their membership of our Club.

Its not just a one-way street. We can offer you valuable experience across a number of different disciplines which you can use to build your career. With over 300 members you will have the opportunity to build your professional networks, learn from others and, who knows, you might even find your future employer or employee!

Being part of a volunteer group gives a strong sense of purpose and fulfillment because you know that your contribution is making a difference - you can see it happen.

As a thank you to all our volunteers the Club takes part in the FA Volunteer Programme where there is an opportunity to apply for FA visits, tickets for football internationals and other events often free of charge or at reduced rates.

Pitch Maintenance

We have three of the best grass pitches in the Yorkshire Region - two are graded 'excellent' by FA Pitchpower, the other graded 'good'.

To achieve such high standards takes much time and effort and if you volunteer you could expect to do some, or all, of the following:

• Tractor driving to mow, quadraplay, spike the pitches
• Seeding, sanding & fertilising
• Watering
• Line marking
• Divot repairing
• Strimming
• Tree cutting/Maintenance

We run a GMA Training programme and funding is available for suitable candidates.

Clubhouse Maintenance

As with all clubhouses, ours requires regular maintenance. You could be involved in the following:

• Electrical wiring/repair
• Heating/boiler maintenance
• Plumbing
• Floor repairs
• Soffit/facia/roof repairs
• Car-park maintenance

Admin Support

Running a club with over 300 members across numerous teams playing in different leagues takes a lot of time and effort. If you are interested in helping out you could get involved in:

• FA accreditation/affiliation
• Membership onboarding
• Club Communications
• Calendar management
• Disciplinary fines process
• FA Grant Applications
• Maintaining our membership database
• Book-keeping support

Commercial & Sponsorship    Support

All grassroots sports clubs need to raise money through sponsorship or other fund-raising activities.

Matchday Help

Matchdays are busy with lots going on. Our games are usually played on Saturdays and Sundays and if you want to help out there are these opportunities:

• Make sure changing rooms are clean & tidy
• Direct teams to their correct changing room
• Help serve food & drinks
• Prepare & serve player teas
• Car-park attendant

Coaching & Team Management

Coaching can be extremely rewarding and requires special skills.

We have qualified coaches within the Club who can pass on their skills and experience to others and we offer FA coaching courses to all our Team Managers.
